Covid-19 Precautions and information
Updated Tuesday 31st March
Candlewarehouse.ie is a member of Retail Excellence, a support body that represents retailers and provides advice. Retail Excellence is in regular contact with HSE and government departments and also their own medical professionals and have issued extensive guidelines to retailers to ensure a safe working and retail environment.
We have today (Tuesday 31st March) received this from Minister Heather Humphries via Retail Excellence
Retailers can continue to fulfil online orders, but this can only be done on the basis of the following:
- The administration/processing activities associated with online orders (eg product udpating, stock control etc) must be done home-based (i.e. remote working and not office based);
- The employer must have only a minimum level of staff on site (e.g. in warehouse) for picking, packing and dispatch; and
- The requirements in relation to physical distancing must be rigorously adhered to in the carrying out of the fulfilment activities.
Therefore, due to the physical size of our premises (over 7,000 sq ft), we can provide a safe workplace and continue to serve our customers during the crisis. We fully understand that many of the products we sell are essential to people’s physical and mental health at this time especially the Ashleigh and Burwood range and people who wish to give themselves or a loved one a lift in these unusual times. We are implementing fulfilment and delivery protocols in line with all HSE advice. We are reviewing the situation every evening and will update our operating protocols based on Government advice. Stay safe and look after yourselves.
We at candlewarehouse.ie have also implemented extra precautions of our own with distancing here of a minimum of 10 metres and as per guidelines, only essential staff being asked to come in, but only if they wish to. Any staff member who lives with or is in contact with any person considered vulnerable, will not be asked to come in. All staff are also being paid as normal.
We have been informed by An Post that there are no problems with Irish deliveries except for small delays and they themselves are adhering to all HSE protocols, however deliveries to many European countries are experiencing some additional delays. - Please check your local DPD (BRT in Italy) office for local restrictions/delays.
We hope that all our customers, wherever you are are safe and will keep healthy. This is an unprecedented situation and changing from day to day. We do urge that evryone takes advice from the HSE (in Ireland) or national health services in your relevant countries. They are the people with the expertise in this area and they are learning more every day in the ever changing situation.
We will all get though this. Medical science is an amazing area and those in that sphere are working hard and will have a solution/vaccine soon and life will get back to normal.
In the meantime, cherish your family and loved ones, take all the precautions advised and hopefully we'll see everyone healthy and hearthy at the end of this.
